Happy Monday, Houstonians!

Watch out for the Houston traffic this Monday morning. Be sure to keep your umbrella near you as it might be raining a few days this week (but you never know about Houston weather 🤷‍♂️).

This week kicks off with vibrant Cinco de Mayo celebrations across town, featuring live music, street festivals, and family-friendly fun so be on the lookout for that.

Whether you’re searching for outdoor festivals, local markets, or free activities for the kids, Houston will be full of events this week and I hope you enjoy a lot.

Houston Failed to Dominate Game 7

The Golden State Warriors secured a 103-89 victory over the Houston Rockets in Game 7 at the Toyota Center, clinching their spot in the Western Conference semifinals. After building a 3-1 series lead, the Warriors had to withstand a determined Rockets comeback that forced a decisive final game.

Buddy Hield was the star for Golden State, hitting a Game 7 record nine three-pointers and finishing with 33 points, while Stephen Curry added 22 points-14 of which came in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Houston struggled offensively, shooting just 40.5% from the field and making only six three-pointers, fewer than Hield alone.

Amen Thompson led the Rockets with 24 points, and Alperen Sengun contributed 21 points and 14 rebounds, but the team couldn’t overcome Golden State’s hot shooting and playoff experience.

The Warriors’ defensive pressure and timely scoring runs, especially in the second half, kept the Rockets at bay despite a third-quarter rally that briefly cut the deficit to three points.
