Trivia
What "name" is Houston famously known for? 🤔 |
Answer at the bottom of the newsletter 😉

After nearly 35 years in the Heights, Casa Ramirez Folk Art Gallery is closing its doors, but the spirit of this beloved Houston spot will live on.
The gallery has been a cornerstone for Mexican American folk art, community celebrations, and cultural education, hosting everything from Día de los Muertos altars to lively neighborhood gatherings.
Owners Macario and Olivia Ramirez say it’s time to retire, but they’re proud of the connections and memories made over the decades.
Even though the storefront is closing, the Ramirez family plans to keep sharing their love for folk art through pop-up events and collaborations around Houston.
So while you won’t be able to drop by the familiar shop on 19th Street anymore, expect to see Casa Ramirez’s colorful influence pop up at festivals and special events all over town

Restaurant Spotlight
If you’re cruising down Westheimer and spot the bright neon sign for Bun Slut (515 Westheimer Rd, Suite G, Houston, TX 77006), you’ve just found one of Houston’s go-to late-night burger joints.
This veteran-owned spot is all about juicy smash burgers made with all-natural halal beef, crispy seasoned fries, and milkshakes that people can’t stop talking about.
The vibe is fun and a little cheeky, with quick service and a menu that’s perfect when you’re craving something indulgent after hours.
The burgers are on the smaller side but pack a punch with flavor, especially when you load them up with extra slut sauce or go wild with toppings. And don’t sleep on the shakes—Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Fruity Pebbles, anyone?
Smash burgers come single or double, with cheese, grilled onions, pickles, and their signature slut sauce.
Fries are next-level: try them Cajun-style or go all-in with Slutty Fries loaded with chopped patty, cheese, and more sauce.
Milkshakes are a must—favorites include Oreo, Fruity Pebbles, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Open late (until 2am most nights, 4am on weekends), so it’s perfect for satisfying those midnight cravings.
Service is fast and friendly, and the atmosphere is clean, trendy, and always buzzing.
